Two Successful Restauranteurs Are Coming to the West Side

I am pleased to inform my constituents and neighbors that two well-known restauranteurs are coming to the west side of 14th Street. They are Med Lahlou and Mark Kuller. Med owns Shoney's on P Street, Ulah Bistro on U Street, and several others in the city. Mark is planning to open his third restaurant. He owns Proof and Estadio. Med will be opening Stub's Kitchen (a working name to be finalized later) at the corner of 14th and T in the former Paradise Liquors building that has been meticulously restored under the watchful eye of HPRB. Mark will be opening his new venture at the corner of 14th and S in the former Whitman-Walker Clinic/JBG project. Med's is an Italian-inspired bistro and Mark will be serving Southeast Asian cuisine in a nature-inspired environment (he was influenced by Brushstroke Restaurant in NYC--see photo). They are currently finalizing their interior design plans and we look forward to dining at these new restaurants in our neighborhood.

ANC Supports Rauzia Ally for HPRB Post

On Wednesday, February 8, the Dupont Circle ANC supported the nomination of Rauzia Ally for an appointment to the Historic Preservation Review Board. She is a resident of Swann Street and President of the Dupont Circle Conservancy. She is a trained architect, a teacher and a business owner. She is knowledgeable about the District's building and zoning codes. And most importantly, she is supportive of Dupont Circle historic preservation priorities.

We wish her good luck in the nomination process and look forward to her participation on the board.
